Privacy Overview
LogGate Pro, LogGate Frame, and LUT Lab are committed to your privacy. We do not collect, transmit, store, or share any of your personal data or video files. Every frame is processed entirely on your device.
What We DON’T Collect
Our apps do NOT collect:
- Personal information (name, email, address, phone number)
- Video files or their contents
- Usage analytics or crash reports
- Location data
- Device identifiers (IDFA, advertising IDs, etc.)
- Behavioral tracking data
- User activity logs
- Photo library metadata beyond what you directly pick
What Happens On Your Device
All processing happens entirely on your Mac, iPhone, or iPad using local frameworks:
| Framework | Purpose | Data Handling |
|---|---|---|
| AVFoundation / VideoToolbox | Decode, encode, read video metadata | Processed locally only |
| Vision | Smart-crop face detection + saliency | Processed locally only |
| Core Image / Metal | Apple Log -> Rec.709 LUT, crop, color management | Processed locally only |
| MetalFX (LogGate Frame) | AI video upscaling (SD to HD) | Processed locally only |
| Metal / Core Image (LUT Lab) | Apply LUT color transforms to Apple Log clips | Processed locally only |
| PHAsset / PhotosUI (LUT Lab) | Read Apple Log clips from Photos library | Only the clip you explicitly select |
| PhotosUI / PHAssetResourceManager (iOS/iPadOS) | Read the original video you pick from Camera Roll | Only the clip you explicitly select |
| UIDocumentPickerViewController (iOS/iPadOS) | Read a video you pick from Files | Only the file you explicitly select |
| FileManager | Access files you select and write to the folder you choose | Only files/folders you choose |
| SwiftData / UserDefaults | Store local queue state and app preferences | Never leaves your device |
Bottom line: Your videos never leave your device. All processing is local, on your CPU / GPU / Media Engine, with no network component.
Permissions We Request (iOS / iPadOS)
When running on iPhone or iPad, the system may ask for these permissions. None of them are used to collect or transmit data; they exist purely so the apps can do local work on the files you point at.
Note: The following permissions apply to LogGate Pro and LUT Lab on iPhone and iPad. LogGate Frame on iOS also requests Photos access to read source video files.
- Photos (Read/Write) – lets you pick source videos from Camera Roll and optionally save outputs back. We request read access so we can retrieve the exact original file you picked.
- Files – lets you pick source videos or LUT files from Files when you explicitly choose them.
- Camera – declared only where needed to describe metadata handling for processed files, not for live capture.
- Microphone – declared only where needed to preserve existing audio tracks on processed videos, not for live recording.
On macOS, LogGate Pro and LogGate Frame run sandboxed and only touch files and folders you explicitly drag in or pick with the system file picker.
How Your Data Is Used
Your files:
- Remain completely on your device
- Are processed locally using your Mac, iPhone, or iPad hardware
- Are never transmitted to any server
- Are never backed up to cloud services by our apps
- Remain under your control
Your queue, preferences, and local history:
- Stay on your device
- Are never synced to our servers
- Are never shared with anyone
- Can be removed by clearing app state or uninstalling the app
Third-Party Services
Our apps do NOT use:
- Analytics services (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, etc.)
- Crash reporting (Crashlytics, Sentry, Bugsnag, etc.)
- Ad networks or advertising
- Tracking pixels or beacons
- Social media integrations
- Cloud storage services
- External API calls
- Any third-party SDKs
We have zero dependencies on external services. Only first-party Apple frameworks.
Required-Reason API Disclosures (Apple)
Apple requires apps to declare use of certain APIs. All three apps (LogGate Pro, LogGate Frame, and LUT Lab) declare these APIs for legitimate local use cases:
- FileTimestamp APIs – to display when a processed file was last modified in local workflow or export history.
- SystemBootTime – for local ETA and timing calculations while processing media.
- UserDefaults – to remember your local preferences and app settings on-device.
See each app bundle’s PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy for the canonical declarations.
Data Security
Your data is secure because:
- All processing happens locally on your device
- Your videos never leave your Mac, iPhone, or iPad unless you explicitly export or share them
- No network transmission of video content occurs through our apps
- App sandboxing limits file access to the items you choose
- Apple platform security features such as code signing and data protection still apply
Data Retention
| Type | Retention | Control |
|---|---|---|
| Video files | You choose | Delete in Finder, Files, or Photos |
| Local queue / preferences | Until cleared | Delete in-app where supported or uninstall |
| After uninstall | None controlled by us | Complete removal of app-managed local state |
Your Privacy Rights
Under GDPR, CCPA, and other privacy laws:
- Right to access: your data remains on your device under your control
- Right to deletion: delete files in Finder, Files, or Photos, or clear local app state
- Right to data portability: your files stay in standard media formats
- Right to not be tracked: we do not track anything inside the apps
- Right to not be profiled: we do not build profiles
We have no user data to export, delete on your behalf, or rectify because we do not collect any.
Children’s Privacy
LogGate Pro, LogGate Frame, and LUT Lab are not intended for children under 13 and do not knowingly collect data from children. The apps collect no data from anyone of any age. If you believe a child has accessed one of the apps, contact us if you have concerns.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. Changes will be noted by updating the “Last Updated” date on this page and, when material, in release notes or app listing updates.
