Privacy Policy

Last Updated: April 23, 2026
Effective Date: Upon app launch
Applies to: LogGate Pro v1.1 and later on macOS, iOS, and iPadOS

🔒 Privacy Overview

LogGate Pro is committed to your privacy. We do not collect, transmit, store, or share any of your personal data or video files. Every frame is processed entirely on your device.

What We DON’T Collect

LogGate Pro does NOT collect:

  • Personal information (name, email, address, phone number)
  • Video files or their contents
  • Usage analytics or crash reports
  • Location data
  • Device identifiers (IDFA, advertising IDs, etc.)
  • Behavioral tracking data
  • User activity logs
  • Photo library metadata beyond what you directly pick

What Happens On Your Device

All video processing happens entirely on your Mac, iPhone, or iPad using local frameworks:

Framework Purpose Data Handling
AVFoundation / VideoToolbox Decode, encode, read video metadata Processed locally only
Vision Smart-crop face detection + saliency Processed locally only
Core Image / Metal Apple Log → Rec.709 LUT, crop, color management Processed locally only
PhotosUI / PHAssetResourceManager (iOS/iPadOS) Read the original video you pick from Camera Roll Only the clip you explicitly select
UIDocumentPickerViewController (iOS/iPadOS) Read a video you pick from Files Only the file you explicitly select
FileManager Access files you select and write to the folder you choose Only files/folders you choose
SwiftData Store the local processing queue Never leaves your device

Bottom line: Your videos never leave your device. All processing is local, on your CPU / GPU / Media Engine, with no network component.

Permissions We Request (iOS / iPadOS)

When running on iPhone or iPad, the system may ask for these permissions. None of them are used to collect or transmit data; they exist purely so the app can do its local work on the files you point at:

  • Photos (Read/Write) — to let you pick source videos from Camera Roll and optionally save converted outputs back. We request read access so we can retrieve the bit-exact original file you picked (important for Apple Log footage that would otherwise be transcoded).
  • Camera — used only to declare that we read metadata from video files, never to capture new video. No live camera use.
  • Microphone — used only to declare that we read existing audio tracks on the video files you process, never to capture live audio.

On macOS, LogGate Pro runs sandboxed and only touches files and folders you explicitly drag in or pick with the system file picker.

How Your Data Is Used

Your video files:

  • Remain completely on your device
  • Are processed locally using your Mac, iPhone, or iPad hardware
  • Are never transmitted to any server
  • Are never backed up to cloud services by LogGate Pro
  • Are completely under your control

Your queue / history:

  • Stored locally using SwiftData
  • Never synced to any cloud
  • Never shared with anyone
  • Removed when you delete queue items or uninstall the app

Third-Party Services

LogGate Pro does NOT use:

  • Analytics services (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, etc.)
  • Crash reporting (Crashlytics, Sentry, Bugsnag, etc.)
  • Ad networks or advertising
  • Tracking pixels or beacons
  • Social media integrations
  • Cloud storage services
  • External API calls
  • Any third-party SDKs

We have zero dependencies on external services. Only first-party Apple frameworks.

Required-Reason API Disclosures (Apple)

Apple requires apps to declare use of certain APIs. LogGate Pro declares three, all for legitimate local app functionality:

  • FileTimestamp APIs — to display when a processed file was last modified in the batch log.
  • SystemBootTime — for local ETA calculation between queue events.
  • UserDefaults — to remember your local preferences (selected output folder bookmark, crop defaults).

See PrivacyInfo.xcprivacy in the app bundle for the canonical declarations.

Data Security

Your data is secure because:

  • All processing happens locally on your device
  • Your videos never leave your Mac, iPhone, or iPad
  • No network transmission of video content — ever
  • App sandbox prevents unauthorized file access on both macOS and iOS
  • Protected by Apple platform security features (Gatekeeper, code signing, data protection)

Data Retention

Type Retention Control
Video files You choose Delete in Finder / Files / Photos
Queue history Until cleared Delete via app or uninstall
After uninstall None Complete removal

Your Privacy Rights

Under GDPR, CCPA, and other privacy laws:

  • Right to access: Your data is on your device under your control
  • Right to deletion: Delete files in Finder, Files, or Photos, or clear the queue in the app
  • Right to data portability: Your files are standard video formats (MP4, MOV, etc.)
  • Right to not be tracked: We don’t track anything
  • Right to not be profiled: We don’t build profiles

We have no user data to export, delete on your behalf, or rectify — because we don’t collect any.

Children’s Privacy

LogGate Pro is not intended for children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children. The app collects no data from anyone of any age. If you believe a child has accessed the app, no action is required on our part because no data exists to remove, but please contact us if you have any concerns.

Summary for App Store Connect

When filling out the App Store Connect privacy questionnaire, use this summary:

LogGate Pro does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data or video files. All video processing occurs entirely on your device, on Mac, iPhone, or iPad. Your videos and processing queue remain completely private and under your control. No analytics, tracking, SDKs, or cloud services are used. The app requests Photos / Files access only to let you pick the videos you want to convert, which are then processed locally.

Answer to “Does your app collect data from this app?” → No.

LogGate Pro — Your videos stay private. Always.
