Version 1.3 is a focused update: faster batches, better HEVC color quality, and a few smaller fixes that add up. Here’s what changed and why it matters.
Faster batch exports on Apple Silicon
If you’re on a Mac with an M-series Pro, Max, or Ultra chip, LogGate Pro now converts two clips at the same time — automatically. No setting to flip. The app detects your chip and adjusts how many conversions run in parallel.
Multi-ratio jobs got faster too. If you export one clip to multiple formats — say 16:9 for YouTube and 9:16 for Reels in the same batch — the source file is now read once and fed to every output writer in a single pass. Previously, the app started fresh for each format. If you run a lot of social-first workflows, you’ll feel this difference immediately.
10-bit color fixed in HEVC exports
This one was quiet but worth calling out.
Earlier versions of LogGate Pro were silently downgrading Apple Log and ProRes RAW footage to 8-bit before encoding HEVC. The result: gradients looked slightly soft and shadow detail wasn’t as sharp as the source deserved. It was the kind of thing that’s hard to notice until you compare side by side.
1.3 preserves the full 10-bit color precision all the way through the encoder. The fix is automatic — if your source is 10-bit (any Apple Log or ProRes RAW clip), the output now matches.
Smart crop runs once per clip
When you export a clip to multiple aspect ratios, the AI subject detection now runs once per source clip and shares the result with every output variant. It doesn’t repeat the face scan or saliency analysis for each ratio. Same framing accuracy, less time spent waiting.
Smaller things worth knowing
- iPhone 17 Pro now shows up correctly by name in batch processing logs (previously logged as a generic device identifier).
- File access on iCloud Drive and other cloud-mounted volumes is more reliable when the app is sandboxed.
- Audio stays consistent across all aspect-ratio variants in a single multi-output export.
- Progress bars fill smoothly from 0 to 100% without resetting between ratios, and the estimated time remaining adapts as the batch runs.
Update is free
1.3 is a free update for everyone who already owns LogGate Pro. It’s available now on Mac, iPhone, and iPad through a single universal purchase.
